Description

One man's reflection on the male role models in his life and the connections made through days of team sports and Saturday practices.

Experience one man's collection of male role models: his father, his teachers and his school rugby coach. Team of the Decades is an autobiographical performance work built on a landscape of parks, roads and pavements, transplanted from the cold streets of London to our hot Perth summer.

Exhilarating and deeply moving, this is a joyous outdoor work designed for ten people. Busting out of the theatre and onto the field, you'll run, tackle, and remember the days of team sports and Saturday practices.

Not playing to win or lose but playing to connect, strengths and weaknesses, fathers and sons, collisions and hugs. Messy, magic, unmissable: Team of the Decades is a thrilling experience of togetherness for anyone who has a man in their life.

Presented by Will Dickie; an artist, performance maker and DJ based in Liverpool UK. This year he was awarded a Lisa Ullman Scholarship to travel to Australia to share his research with students and artists on his work with the grooving body and performer training. His recent credits include movement direction on Hanna Tuullikki’s video installation Deer Dancer, and as lead role in ZUUK’s Dinner Date on their tour of Colombia.

His own works, The Rave Space, Team of the Decades and Memories of Suburbia have toured the UK extensively. His work often seeks to fuse his long term commitment to martial and meditative practices with contemporary experience. He also collaborates regularly with artists who identify as learning disabled.
