Come and enjoy a French Spirit of Christmas in the heart of Northbridge with gift stands, Christmas food & drinks, kids Christmas Market, Santa Claus Post and Entertainment
This November (provided the risk levels and restrictions allow for it), we will bring you a traditional marché de Noël just like you'd find in French towns - minus the snow, of course.
A French Christmas Market is traditional from the East Regions of France, the Alsace and Lorraine located close to Germany.
It normally takes place in little wooden houses on the streets from end of November till Christmas. You can enjoy food, hot mulled wine and hot chocolate while roving between artisan and Christmas decoration stalls to find the perfect gift idea. It is more about the atmosphere, the community sharing and gathering than just a simple market.
We will recreate the ambiance so the local community will experience the settings of a French Christmas Market and have the perfect opportunity to travel without having to leave Perth.
This year Russell Square will get transformed in a magical Market Street with cardboard facades recreating the traditional wooden houses and visitors will wander through the French inspired stalls to find some gorgeous gifts such as homewares, jewellery, clothes, cards, art and much more!
In a dedicated licenced area, patrons will be able to taste some of the French Classical festive Christmas food such as bûche de Noel, Foie Gras and Vin Chaud. We will also offer some live entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
A special kids zone in partnership with 123 Soleil French School will be created. Children and their families will have an opportunity to meet Santa, to send a letter at Santa's post office, create Christmas arts and craft and decorate some wooden Christmas trees. They will also love listening to the Christmas songs by the children Choir of the French School of Perth roving around the market.
We will push to French Spirit even further by having our own special Unique Christmas Eiffel Tower decorated as a Christmas Tree. In France the advent calendar is a vivid tradition where not only kids but also adults enjoy during the whole month of December discovering each day a special treat. We are planning as a fundraiser for our registered cultural charity to create a giant advent calendar where 24 lucky participants will win one of the prizes hidden behind the doors!
