Diger Rokwell is digitally launching his nine latest tracks from "Digpan: 50-100 Yen Japanese Sample Excursions" for the first time at The Bird!
On the 18th January Diger Rokwell is back, and supporting him is Henry Kissinger, and DJ sets by Nathan J, and Rok Riley. The aim of the Beat Tourism projects is to break away from the traditional origins of sampling in hip hop into new refreshing territory is a hip hop beat tape constructed from Japanese records found in the 50-100 Yen sections of various record and thrift stores in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto whilst Rokwell was on vacation there in 2015. After purchasing around 80 records, endless snippets where meticulously sampled, edited and arranged back in OZ; ending up with a killer 9 tracks deep hip hop beat tape.
