Description
Concerned with the human experience of dislocation from origins, and understanding new places.
Born in different hemispheres (Poland and Zimbabwe) and now living far from ‘home’ the artists seek to explore the nuances of distance via printmaking practices. Lukowska and McKee revisit their past homes through photography archives and memories; while in Perth they investigate their surroundings through daily rhythms of walking, photography, video recordings, and site drawings. The artists question if the surface of the print can act in such a way that it creates a sense of place and transposes the experience into a physical form.
