Description

American composer John Mackey’s 2014 symphony for band was inspired by Homer’s epic poem, The Odyssey, the thrilling adventures of Odysseus as he journeys through the Mediterranean following the fall of Troy. This bold and compelling piece combines the full force of WAAPA’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble, one of WAAPA's biggest and most spectacular performance groups, with percussion, prepared pianos and harps.
