Description
Three WA artists, Jeremy Blank, David Carson and Gary Parris, have been aware of each others similar interests in time and its manifestation through photographic imagery for several years.
For this exhibition, each artist has approached the subject using different techniques to create images that extend a singular moment.
David Carson’s work includes the use of cameras over extended periods of up to one year to create a single image from thousands of scans or exposures.
Gary Parris extends a single frame to include atmospheric and compositional shifts which question notions of accepted understandings of representational reality.
Jeremy Blank’s pinhole photographs utilize multiple exposures beyond the use of a shutter in generating layered performative portraits in time.
