Description
WAAFA presents a soulful music performance by Geoffrey Lancaster at Richard Gill Auditorium.
Joseph Haydn's The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross is a deeply moving masterwork that serves as a meditation on the Passion of the God-Man. Filled with gravitas, hope and the 'light' of redemption, Haydn regarded this work as the best that he had composed. Originally written for orchestra, Geoffrey Lancaster performs a version for solo fortepiano that was praised and sanctioned by the composer himself
