WAAPA Jazz Big Band performs one of the great work by American trumpeter and composer Thad Jones - Cheer Juice.
One of the world's greatest jazz musicians, American trumpeter, composer and bandleader Thad Jones had a long and highly creative influence on big band jazz. His composition Cherry Juice, known by musicians as 'unsafe at any tempo', encapsulates everything this exciting concert will explore: virtuosic, complex, grooving compositions from the Thad Jones' bandbook that helped define the big band sound, and new works inspired by his legacy. The sound will take you away, and may blow you away too!
