Description

In 2016, Judy Rogers and Jillian Ciemitis represented Australia at the G20 Summit International Exhibition in Hangzhou, China.

Returning home, these two artists decided to process their experiences through a ‘call and response’ project. Each artist would produce a work inspired by the Hangzhou exhibition, and the other would respond with another art-piece in a series of reflections back and forth, ultimately producing this exhibition.

The eight artworks comprise oils, mixed media, lino and digital prints and textiles, all produced intuitively without ‘overthinking’ their response creating images that derive directly from their experiences, or by conscious and subconscious ponderings and reflections.
