Four of the sisters from the talented Numina family present images of Country & traditional stories associated with Anmatyerre lands in Central Australia
The sisters Lanita, Caroline, Selina and Sharon from the large Numina family continue to document and paint traditional stories from their family homelands in Central Australia. The sisters are Anmatyerre speakers and grew up on Stirling Station located between Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. The subjects of their artworks are based on women’s Dreaming stories from Anmatyerre culture and cover Womens Ceremonies and Body Paint designs, stories related to Bush Medicine and Bush Foods, Emu Dreaming and Dingo Dreaming stories and Water Dreaming.
