Description
Perth indie rock royalty FLANDERS will be reforming for this year’s In The Pines fundraiser for RTRFM, and treating fans to one special headline show – the band’s first since 2001.
It’s going down Friday, April 12 at The Newport Hotel in Fremantle, with support from some old mates in their newer guises, The Ghost Hotel (playing their first show in over two years) and The Jaycos (in duo form).
For the benefit of those born after a certain time, Flanders formed in 1994, consisting of Luke Bostelman (singer/guitarist), Mark Pike (singer/bassist) and Christian Owen on drums, releasing three EPs: Spadework, (1995), Small Town Big Chip (1997) and Mud and Five Ways To Survive It (1998). Their song 'Anky Fremp' was one of the first Perth tracks to get added to triple J rotation alongside contemporaries such as Ammonia and Jebediah. Multiple headline tours followed, along with another supporting the Stereophonics on their first tour to Australia, plus an appearance at CMJ Music Marathon in New York City.
Don’t miss this chance to catch one of Perth’s favourite bands from the glorious ‘90s!
