Bird N Nature Week (expired event)

Join citizen scientists researching seabirds and Island endemics while exploring Christmas Island.

Christmas Island is home to 23 resident or breeding species of land and sea birds. The Frigatebirds and Red-tailed Tropicbirds are two of the rarest birds on the island and participants will be lucky enough to work with the guides to study the nesting biology and foraging ecology. 

There will be surveys, workshops, mapping as well as close-up birdwatching and searching for the more rare species. 

You can also expect nightly seminars which will showcase the results of all the seabird research, the status of the endemic land birds, the rarities, and the marine and terrestrial ecology of the island.
