Returning to the stage for a national Australian tour after a sell-out Sydney world premiere season (Feb 21) and an Adelaide Festival smash hit run (March 21), Rafael Bonachela’s Impermanence is “arguably the single best piece created by and for an Australian dance company for many years” (Adelaide Advertiser).
A visceral and thrilling exploration of the juxtaposition of beauty and devastation, this full-length work features a new score full of emotional power from Grammy Award-winning composer Bryce Dessner. Best known as a founder of American rock band The National and for his film scores for The Revenant and The Two Popes, Dessner was initially inspired by the tragedy of the Australian bush fires and the Notre-Dame fire in Paris. With an exquisite recording by the Australian String Quartet, and the full might of Sydney Dance Company’s “awe inspiring” (In Daily) ensemble, this is an epic, driven performance that packs an emotional punch.
“Dance moves for the end of the world… Choreographer Rafael Bonachela sets his excellent dancers on a whirling, bounding trajectory…” – The Sydney Morning Herald.

Fremantle Theatre Company is proud to present Last Train to Freo by Reg Cribb
Dates:Aug 3 - 20
Venue:Victoria Hall, Fremantle
Hosted By:Fremantle Theatre Company
FTC invites you to experience the 20-year revival of the Patrick White Award winning play, restaged for the first time in Fremantle and directed by Perth's own champion of the theatre Reg Cribb.
When two rough-cut gems fresh from Perth’s prison system board the train in Midland, the stage is set for a truly wild ride south. Cutting sharply through every sector of WA society – not even these wayward misfits can predict where they will end up.
Cribb was inspired to write the play after he witnessed two thugs harassing an attractive woman on a Midland to Freo train, and what he has written in response is an inspired, richly layered, dramatic story with several themes intertwined and unravelling as one.
The play is a ticking time-bomb, winding-up-and-up energetically, as the train approaches its final destination: Fremantle. At each new stop, more is revealed about the passengers and the tensions that unite them. And along the way, the work tears open some key discourses that rippled through the Perth social climate at that time, and quite unsurprisingly, now.
Running time: 80 minutes, no interval.
Warnings: Violence, bad language, sexual themes.
It's boyband vs girlband in this hilarious musical.

Belvoir St Theatre artistic director Eamon Flack adapted Ibsen’s Ghosts for a 2017 Sydney production – and now his second cousin Thomas Dimmick is directing the show in Perth.

Her maid Regine is helping to prepare things, Regine’s carpenter father has been working on the building and Pastor Manders is organising the paperwork. At the same time, Helene’s son has also come back from Paris for the occasion.
Henrik Ibsen’s Ghosts plays at 8pm August 11, 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20 with a 2pm matinee August 14. Tickets are $23, $18 concession – book at www.TAZTix.com.au. Note: the show contains adult themes.
