Description

Applecross Art & Framing is proud to host an exhibition featuring celebrated Australian artist Helen Norton.

Dogs’ Lives will be officially opened by Red Dog movie producer, Nelson Woss, which is very fitting for a collection of paintings that succinctly depict musings and observations of life with dogs.

Dogs’ Lives is Norton’s first exhibition in Perth in three years, and one that she hopes will not only delight the public but raise much needed funds for the Dogs’ Refuge Home in Shenton Park.  Part of Norton’s inspiration is fuelled by the wonderful work done by the Home, saving nearly 1500 homeless dogs per year.  It has been rescuing and re-homing dogs throughout Western Australia since 1935.  There is a regional focus with this fund-raising effort that also fits and reflects much of Helen’s earlier work and influence from her time living in the Kimberley.

Dogs’ Lives will be exhibited first at Heathcote Cultural Precinct, 58/60 Duncraig Rd Applecross from 14-17th June, then at Applecross Art & Framing 4/30 Ardross St, Applecross until Friday 1st July 2018.

Opening night Thursday 14th June 7pm -9pm at Heathcote Cultural Precinct.
