The IGA Great Southern of Western Australia represents one of the most diverse and engaging food and wine regions you could imagine! Located along the pristine southern coastline and expanding into the farming hinterland it includes major centres Albany, Denmark and Mt Barker. It also boasts some of the most beautiful and unique natural tourism attractions in the state.

When you talk about Great Southern produce, you include words like fresh, natural, seasonal and exceptional. Foods like oysters and seafood, cereal crops, beef and sheep, vegetables and milk products all excel on the south coast and the wine varietals such as Shiraz, Riesling and Pinot Noir all compete strongly on the world stage.

Taste Great Southern the event, runs for 18 days, stretches over three weekends and two weeks straddling the Easter break and will be promoted to extend holidays for people visiting the region. Nearly 50 events will be staged using and promoting the best produce available. Guest chefs will join with local hosts at a range of both intimate and larger venues.
