Description
A celebration of the art and stories of three generations of women living in the remote community of Kalka in the Tompkinson Ranges of South and Western Australia.
The artists chose the title MINYMA WIRU TJUTA All The Lovely Ladies for this exhibition which is more than simply a celebration of their art and stories; it is also a recognition of the joy and companionship that coming together to paint brings whilst being in the same space and telling stories of family, country and everyday life through their paintings. The internationally exhibited Pitjantjatjara and Ngaanyatjarra artists from the Ninuku Studio have developed a diversity of styles in which their traditional stories of country are told. The art centre is a wholly Aboriginal owned art centre founded in 2006.
