Description
Paul Wright directs the String Camerata in the most beloved string octet of them all - Mendelssohn's glorious String Octet, Opus 20.
Written when the composer was just 16 years old, the work is a remarkable blend of youthful verve and astonishing passion. No wonder it has been hailed as “one of the miracles of 19th century music”. The program also includes the delicious Concerto for Strings by Margaret Sutherland AO OBE, one of the best-known and most-loved musicians Australia has produced.
