Description

Join us for a social bike ride in John Forrest National Park to raise awareness about the importance of exercise in managing chronic disease and mental health conditions

Join us for a social ride in the beautiful John Forrest National Park in the Perth Hills.

This is an opportunity for the WA rare disease community to come together for a social bike ride as part of WA Bike Month run by West Cycle.

The social ride will be for those living with genetic and rare health conditions, their friends, family, carers, patient organisations and health professionals.

The ride will be lead by local mountain biker Matt Williams and his partner Stacie Woodward. Matt uses riding as part of his care plan to manage his genetic health condition.

We would like to encourage those living with chronic health conditions and disabilities to remain active for both physical and mental health by joining us at our Bike Month event.

The Bike Ride

The ride which is aimed at novice riders will take us from the Pechey Road car park up the Railway Heritage Trail, past the old railway tunnel and National Park Falls to a lovely BBQ and rest area where we will stop to relax and have a free sausage sizzle. The ride will approximately be an 8km round trip with a very gentle climb.

After we are rested and fed we will enjoy a nice down hill ride back to the car park.
