Description

Located on the beautiful banks of the Canning River, the Museum collection is housed in the State Heritage listed Wilkinson Homestead. The collection features textiles, agricultural machinery, domestic equipment, furniture, historic photographs and paintings significant to local history.

The collection features textiles, agricultural machinery, domestic equipment, furniture, historic photographs and paintings significant to local history. In mid 2006 the Museum received a donation of a beautifully restored vintage Essex motor car. This 1927 vehicle, formerly owned by local man Cyril Newton, was driven throughout Gosnells in the 1930s and attracted much attention, as cars, particularly of this type, were a relatively rare sight. This donation to the City by the Amaroo Village Board is a truly significant and greatly appreciated gift. It is currently on display in the main shed at the City's Museum.

The Museum is an attractive site for group visits and is available outside normal opening hours by request, for weddings or other group gatherings.  The Museum can accommodate people with special needs. Chairs and tables can be provided. Please contact the Museum Curator on 9397 3144 to discuss requirements.

The Museum appreciates donations of objects, photographs and archival material relevant to the City of Gosnells.
