Presented by West Australian Opera in association with the UWA Conservatorium of Music
Winthrop Hall will resonate with the wonderful sounds of over 150 performers, singing from the stage, galleries and central floor, as West Australian Opera immerses audiences in glorious music for this unique event.
Mendelssohn’s heroic work Elijah is an opera in disguise, an Old Testament story that has been performed countless times as a sacred oratorio. In this reimagining West Australian Opera is proud to collaborate with the UWA Conservatorium of Music to bring this spectacular gem to life. Prepare to be moved by enchanting voices and powerful melody.
This world premiere production will see director Patrick Nolan take four of Australia’s most beloved singers and the UWA Symphony Orchestra and Chorus on a journey through the prophet Elijah’s magnificent story of faith, doubt and miracles.
The audience will be seated in the round, so places are limited.
