Perth Chamber Orchestra performs a memorable program to mark the Centenary of the Irish Rising 1916 – a historic rebellion that led to Ireland’s Independence.

In 1916 at the GPO building in Dublin, a small group of men made a stand in a move that would lead to Ireland becoming a nation in its own right.

100 years on, in 2016, the GPO building in Perth will play host to an evening of incredible music from Ireland.

Boasting the finest German cuisine that its namesake would surely have crossed the seas for, Beethoven Restaurant offers a truly authentic German experience. The family-owned restaurant is run by Helga, her sons Tobias and Sebastian and her daughter-in-law Kristina.

It offers an elegant, yet warm and welcoming, dining environment. Helga and her family pride themselves on creating a comfortable and friendly atmosphere, with diners treated as members of the family, which is why events here are such a treat. Popular events include Oktoberfest, at which you’ll enjoy the most authentic German food in Perth as well as German beer on tap.

The restaurant can cater for 70 for sit-down functions and 90 for cocktail-style. Large booths provide a cosy spot for couples on Valentine’s Day and the alfresco area is perfect all year round. It is also ideally laid out for weddings and has ample parking for limousines or other large vehicles.

The food is mainly German-influenced with dishes from other European countries as well, but all needs are catered for. The menu includes traditional German dishes of schnitzel and pork shanks, along with other European favourites, all made from the finest Australian meats. Function catering at home is also an option and Helga highly recommends the cold antipasto platters.

 

Belgian Beer Cafe Westende

On the corner of Murray Street and the ever-so-chic King Street, Belgian Beer Cafe Westende is a little slice of Europe in the middle of the urban jungle.

With its suburb beers and quaint, 1930s-themed decor, the much-loved Belgian Beer Cafe Westende brings a little piece of Belgium to Perth. Situated on the corner of Murray and King streets, the venue is like an inner-city oasis – a sanctuary for those who appreciate top-quality brews and modern European cuisine.

It’s also a great spot for social and corporate events, with several spaces available for hire. The Hoegaarden is a covered beer garden where guests can observe the nine-step pouring technique demonstrated by the highly skilled staff. The space can be hired in its entirety, or portions of the courtyard can be cordoned off for smaller groups. A great option for smaller gatherings is the Westmalle dining area. For more exclusive functions, Trappist on King is ideal. This fully private bar area can also be hired exclusively, or sectioned off. While the beer here deserves to be raved about, the food is just as good. As an event host, you can choose to provide guests with a set menu, platters or cocktail food, or there is an à la carte option for smaller groups.  Mussels are a specialty, but with roast pork belly and slow roasted rabbit also on the menu, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Bistro Felix can cater for a variety of group reservations up to 95 guest to suit your particular requirements.

The Wine Room

Named for the amazing wall of wine, our beautiful Wine Room is situated at the rear of the dining area.

The room has an intimate, classic feel with beautiful vintage art and large board room style table that provide comfort and style. This space can seat a maximum of 16 guests.

The Main Dining Room

The room caters for private events and weddings for 80-95 guests(depending on availability).

Group Menus

If your group is 12 or more you will need to select from our choice of group menus. This ensures we can provide your guests with an exceptional food experience in a timely manner.

Wine

Bistro Felix has an extensive wine list with over 600 wines listed, a full bar of spirits and a selection of bottled beers. We do have a full-time Sommelier who will be happy to liase with you regarding your beverage choice.

Music

The music played at Bistro Felix has been chosen to suit the style of the restaurant and is designed to provide background atmosphere. The sound system can not isolate any area within the restaurant and therefore clients are unable to select their own music repertoire even if in the private dining room.

Presentations and Speeches

Presentations and speeches are only possible when in our Wine Room. The use of audio-visual equipments is subject to approval by management. No marketing material can be pinned or otherwise attached to the walls or windows—however free-standing items can be used.
