A custom concrete pool, stone waterwall and covered alfresco area make the outdoor space both functional and visually appealing.

The owners of this Dalkeith home requested a contemporary design to enhance the entertaining capacity and maximise the usability of the rear garden area. It was to include a pool as well as a covered entertaining space.

A custom concrete pool, built by Phase3 Pools, consists of both swimming and lay-up areas, and features a glazed black-brick header, glazed black waterline tiles and white plaster. A dado-rendered masonry waterwall and feature wall sit on the edge of the pool.

To accommodate the alfresco entertaining space, a custom steel and recycled blackbutt pavilion was created. The garden’s northern boundary wall was designed at varying heights to add interest, provide screening and support the pavilion roof structure.

Custom, galvanised steel fins were designed to echo the rectilinear form of the boundary walls and provide security for the offset blade walls.
