Most recently, Ron represented Australia at the Melanesian Arts Festival in Noumea, where his work was exhibited in and acquired for the Province Sud collection.
Sculpture by the Sea Exhibition, Bondi 2010 was Ron’s tenth participation in this event, and he is the first West Australian sculptor to be inducted into the Decade Club for those artists whose work was selected to feature in ten exhibitions at Bondi.
The 2011 Cottesloe Sculpture by the Sea Exhibition will be the seventh that Ron’s work
has been selected for.
Ron’s sculptures have received international recognition, some of it extending from his three exhibitions in Paris (another show planned midyear 2011 in the south of France).
This exposure has led to his work being selected by overseas developers, including projects for the Sultanate of Oman.
Currently, Ron is working on a commission of six sculptures for a major development at the Galaxy Complex in Macau.
One of the largest commissions that Ron has designed and been involved in was Northern Spirits, commissioned by Fortescue
Metals Group, Port Hedland. This particular project created a great deal of interest, and Ron has been commissioned to make six more sculptures for FMG.
This will also be the 28th year that the Gomboc Gallery Sculpture Survey Exhibition will be presented, an annual event involving students from Edith Cowan, Curtin Universities and Polytechnic Midland.
