Description

Set well back from the street and slightly elevated on the block, this classically styled Cape Dutch home is a handsome and dignified addition to the established streetscape.

The owners requested a low-maintenance, double-storey home that was individually and classically styled, with all bedrooms upstairs and the opportunity to add a pool in the future.

A portico with wrought-iron gates on the central axis of the house provides an attractive and formal entry to the home. All zones in the home radiate from the generous entrance hall, which also provides a glimpse to the rear garden.

The stairs to the upper level are discreetly located to one side of the entrance hall, and lead to the main suite, family bedrooms and rear balcony.

The dining room has bi-fold doors on opposite sides, which extends the space across both the enclosed courtyard and the alfresco dining.

The kitchen and associated casual meals area are designed to allow easy circulation, comfort and convenience at the hub of the living areas.

The overall design offers a transparency and harmony between the house and garden that fully integrates the home with its site.
