VenuesWest, on behalf of the state government of Western Australia, is the premier provider of venues for high-performance athlete support, health and participation, and stellar entertainment experiences.
Nestled in Mt Claremont, the sporting precinct comprises HBF Stadium, the WA Athletics Stadium, and Bendat Basketball Centre, and, nearby on Selby Street, the
State Netball Centre. All are versatile in nature and can be tailored to meet your
specific event requirements. With more than 25 years’ experience in venue management, VenuesWest’s continued commercial success enables its team to support high-performance sport in Western Australia.
By booking your next event or function at one of its venues, you are contributing to
building pathways for young Western Australians to learn skills and be inspired by sports training and events.
There are unlimited possibilities with theming in the main arena at HBF Stadium for your ball, banquet or party. Extras such as team-building activities, calming meditation and invigorating fitness classes can also be offered here or at one of its neighbouring venues.
Built in 1986, HBF Stadium – formerly known as Perth Superdrome and Challenge Stadium – is world-renowned as having been a World Swimming Championships venue twice, and host to many international musical acts and performers. The stadium has two dedicated function rooms, a lecture theatre, a courtyard and large indoor arena complete with roof-to-floor wall drapes and silk ceiling. Facilities available include retractable projector screens, wall-mounted 52- inch plasma televisions, in-house sound systems, bar and restroom facilities, while the main arena has more than 11 configurations, with VIP guest entrance.
VenuesWest’s event management team can take care of the whole event. Whether it’s a White Christmas, Dinner in the Jungle or Cocktails under the Sea, its events partners can help make your party unforgettable. Need a jukebox? No problem. Prefer a DJ? Or how about a 10-piece band with horn section and dancing girls? They can organise it. Whatever you require for sound, lighting and special effects, the team knows where to find it.
Alternatively, there’s the WA Athletics Stadium, the 2016 host of the World Masters Athletics Championships and the Australian Junior Athletics Championships. The stadium, built in 2009, offers modern facilities and full catering. The Fred Napier Conference Room is ideal for training courses, workshops and meetings, with easy access to the athletics track and oval, while the boardroom is dressed in polished floorboards, with natural light and a kitchenette.
Also in this precinct are the Bendat Basketball Centre, and the brand-new State Netball Centre. The basketball centre, opened in 2010, offers sweeping views of the Perry Lakes parkland. Its newly built Ellis Room is able to accommodate up to 500 guests, and can be partitioned into two rooms if required, with a full bar and built-in projector available. The State Netball Theatre opened its doors in 2015, and offers a Program Room for functions of up to 90 guests, and an impressive stadium that can hold up to 4000.
