Masonmill Gardens is a new venue in the Perth Hills that has taken the tranquil charm of the Rose Heritage Centre and created, through extensive investment and redevelopment, a beautiful multi-purpose location for visitors.
The original site was operated as a rose nursery by the Melville family for many years, and in 1997 they built the Rose Heritage Cafe tearoom. While the nursery was always a popular attraction, the tearoom gained its own reputation for serving exceptional coffee and beautiful cakes. The venue was then purchased by a local family, with a view to redevelop it as a dedicated wedding and function destination.
The old tearooms have been transformed into a modern, classy family restaurant, and there are now four unique areas in which to dine, including the air-conditioned interior and Diamond Room, the undercover terrace, and the open-air terrace. Outside the Diamond Room is the alfresco, where customers can enjoy live music at the weekends, and outdoor cinema nights throughout the year.
When taking a stroll through the magnificent grounds, guests will fall in love with the picture-perfect gardens, complete with French-style hedging and rustic walkways, the relaxing koi pond, gazebo with an electric retractable roof, and Crab Apple Walk, its fairy-tale apple archway lit up with thousands of lights for a fantasy feel.
A beautiful nature-play playground has also been designed to stimulate the imagination and confidence in children, providing interesting, slightly challenging and safe obstacles and play areas. This being the case, the venue also welcomes children’s birthday parties to its long list of function offerings, which encompasses weddings, high teas, birthdays and garden parties.
