Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d be aware that cafes can re-open for dine-in Monday May 18, and that means one thing: Sunday brunch is back on the cards! We’re sure your four legged friend is missing those weekend brunch dates too, so we’ve found the very best dog friendly cafes open for sit-down meals across Perth. Check them out here:

Central & Northern Suburbs

Finlay and Sons no. 917

If you’ve passed Finlay & Sons on any given morning, you’d likely have seen a cafe with as many dogs as people. Their love of dogs is so strong that they even have an Instagram page dedicated to them, @dogsoffinlays, run by staff member Andrew Mercer. In more of a soft reopening, Finlay & Sons will allow dine-in from Monday May 18 in their alfresco area only, with patrons to order from the takeaway menu. Keep your eyes peeled for their full reopening announcement in the coming weeks, with a brand spanking new winter menu.

Offering doggy cookies and icy poles as well as a back porch and outdoor seating for your dog to soak up the last of the sun, this place is about as dog friendly as you can get. Steam Haus will be up and running as of May 18, but be sure you call to book to avoid disappointment!

Canteen Trigg

Situated right on Trigg Beach is Canteen, a largely outdoor cafe perfect for brunch in the sun. Although Canteen has been open for takeaway, with punters able to stroll over and eat on the beach instead, the dine-in menu opening back for business will offer more choice. As they are walk-in only, it’s best to get there early to secure your spot, particularly on a weekend. Or, pop your name down when you get there and take your dog for a beach walk while you wait.

Pixel Coffee Brewers

If you’re after an all-day healthy brunch spot, Pixel are your people. They did Perth’s first pumpkin smash (sister of the avo smash) a few years back and although much of the menu will be brand new, they’ve kept the old favourite for our post-isolation needs. Both their Leederville and Claremont stores are opening for both people and pooches as of May 18 – you can either call to book or try your luck with a walk in.

Duck Duck Bruce

Duck Duck Bruce’s dog friendly garden is also back in business, decked out with dog bowls, treats and blankets to keep you and your best mate toasty. With a new all-day brunch and lunch menu, Duck Duck Bruce is taking advantage of the smaller number of guests and including items that they don’t serve when there’s a big crowd, like french toast and waffles.

Best of all, proceeds from babycino and sparkling water purchases go straight to the kennel they sponsor at Shenton Park Dog Refuge. Just shoot them a call or email to book in, and be sure to let them know if you’re bringing your dog too.
