Indulge and take a tour of Perth’s best spots serving some amazing over the top desserts that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Swing by Railway Road for a doughy liege waffle or treat yourself to a 20-hour brioche donut in Willagee. From pastries to milkshakes there is something for everyone.

Waffles, Pitcher and Iron

Subiaco’s Pitcher and Iron serves traditional Belgian-style waffles with a decadent twist. Choose from a light and airy Brussels base or doughy and dense Liege waffle to support the mountainous toppings on offer. Flavours do not shy away from extravagance, ranging from matcha-chocolate topping to fairy floss or lemon cheesecake flavoured ice-cream, with portion-sizes to match. If your sweet tooth is still not satisfied, wash down your waffles with a milkshake or premium Callebaut hot chocolates available.

Pitcher and Iron is open Wednesday to Friday from 3pm to 10pm, and 11am to 10pm on the weekend.

Donuts, Top Dup Donuts

This Willagee bakery creating insta-worthy treats is known for their artisanal and small batch donuts. Top Dup Donuts change their flavours every fortnight to keep things interesting and are available for pre-order. These decorative goodies receive a notable mention for their fluffy signature brioche base and picture-perfect presentation. Past hits have been the Cadbury Favourites croughie, honeycomb cookie dough deluxe and Milo beignets.

Grab a donut from 7.30am to 2pm from Tuesday to Sunday.

Milkshakes, Whisk Creamery

Pastry chefs Giulio Nelva and sons bring a long line of dessert making knowledge to Perth, using traditional Italian practices to create modern masterpieces. This family business pride themselves on handmade fresh ingredients and view desserts as an art medium. Whisk Creamery’s milkshakes use fresh gelato, artisanal ingredients and are decked out with toppings that are a nod to the flavours of the Valle d’Aosta region. Keep an eye out for the Cronutella, a chocolate and hazelnut milkshake topped with Nutella and a whole homemade cronut.

Pancakes, Fika on Brix

Make sure to stop by Beckenhem to taste the mouth-watering stacks Fika on Brix dish out every Sunday. Although only served weekly, Fika’s pancakes are loaded with new flavours every month. Past specials include a Neapolitan stack with double choc pancakes and strawberry ice cream and the cinnamon scroll pancakes with spiced poach pear and pecans.

Pair your OTT treat with specialty coffee brewing 7am to 2.30pm.

Croissants, Croff Bakehouse

Husband and wife duo Giselle Sim and Harold Bong specialise in inventive croissants with buttery pastry that are jam packed with creative and delicious fillings. Classic favourites like chocolate and almond are available alongside Asian-fusion pastries, with the most popular being the salted egg croissant with black pastry and lava salted egg filling. Get caught up in the extensive range of innovative flavours while admiring the sleek but welcoming industrial interior of this Barrack St bakery.

Freshly baked croissants are being served 7am – 1.30pm Monday to Thursday, 7am – 2.30pm Friday, 9am – 2.30pm Saturday and 10am – 2.30pm Sunday.
