WA’s very own equivalent of Ubud! That’s what David Hogan, CEO of Scoop Digital, calls Margaret River and it will never be more obvious than over the next 2 weeks when 131 artists and artisans open their doors to the public.

Margaret River Region Open Studios, now in its 5th year, is Australia’s largest Open Studio event and it’s an extraordinary opportunity to cruise from Augusta to Busselton, meet the artists whose work you are already familiar with, find a few new favourites and, if you are lucky, leave with beautiful pieces to decorate your walls, wear on your fingers, jazz up your garden or furnish your living room.

The event starts this Saturday April 28 and runs until May 13. For full details, check out the Margaret River Region Open Studios website or grab a free guide at the South West Visitor Centres in Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River and Augusta. We’ve also got a few suggestions below to get you started… For a comprehensive guide to all art galleries and 50+ exhibitions in WA, check our Visual Arts page.
