Margaret River is renowned as one of the leading boutique wine regions, producing some of the world’s best Chardonnays and Cabernets. It’s also become a home for more than 13 craft brewers, combining outstanding beers with some of the regions most popular lunch time and dinner destinations. Here’s a few of our favourites and a guide map to brewers across the region.

Colonial Brewing Company

Established in 2004, Colonial Brewing Company has grown to be a nationally recognised brand with a second site built in Port Melbourne back in 2015. Despite their size, Colonial prides itself on sourcing local brewers to produce its craft beers. The brewery offers a wide range of craft beers, as well as their signature Bertie apple cider. Sitting on Osmington Road, the Margaret River brewery is open to the public seven days a week. You can easily spend a day in the sun enjoying their woodfired pizzas, or try your hand at golf at their onsite driving range while sampling some of their delicious craft brews. Black Brewing Company

Situated on Caves Rd, Black Brewing Company invite you to enjoy a pint at their stunning lakeside location. Regularly hosting exhibitions, concerts and weddings, the brewery frequently releases seasonal brews making no two visits alike. Whether it’s going into their funky sours or session-able lagers, Black Brew Co. aim to make the most of local flavours and ingredients. Known for their core range, including a mid-strength, lager, pale ale and apple cider, any of their brews make a great accompaniment to their pizzas and crowd-pleasers such as crispy calamari and beef brisket. Beerfarm

Converted from an old dairy farm and sitting on 80 acres of countryside, Beerfarm incorporate sustainable practices into their process wherever possible, including by feeding the discarded grain to their cattle. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Metricup, their brewers look to local ingredients and flavours to inspire their beers and beverages. With a focus on everything eco-friendly, Beerfarm’s flagship range include a variety of lagers, pales and their unique Eastern and Western Tsar stouts. With activities for the whole family, dog-friendly fields and an outdoor playground, you’ll easily spend an afternoon here enjoying the heritage architecture, refreshing beers, and smoked woodfired pizza stacks. Cowaramup Brewing Company

Cowaramup Brewing Company is a family-owned microbrewery located just off Bussell Highway. Consisting of an 800 litre brewhouse, the brewery currently make six beers including the Cowaramup Pilsner, India Pale Ale and Cowaramup Chocolate Porter. Taking bookings of up to 20 people, tours of the brewery include detailed explanations of the brewing process and a behind the scenes look at the brewing process. The tour is followed by a tasting of their whole range paired with food. Their restaurant is open seven days and offers a wide range of small plates, share options and pizzas. Cheeky Monkey Brewery Company

Located in Willyabrup, Cheeky Monkey Brewery Co. was founded in 2012 by the Burton Family. In line with their name, they are all about celebrating fun and mischief. You can visit their family-friendly brewery in Margaret River or their Monkey Bar at their production brewery in Vasse. With a reputation for making the classics well, their range of beers and beverages includes an assortment of IPAs, fruit goses and ginger beer. Their standout branding and memorable flavours have made the brewery a staple of the region.
