With most of the local shops closing, online stores will be the major source for your shopping fix. Online shopping tends to be associated with big brands and corporations, like the supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths. But in a time where local business needs our support more than ever, it’s important to spend your money wisely, and that means shopping local wherever you can. From groceries to clothing, trying to support local, small businesses as much as possible will make a world of difference for them. Here are a few local online stores:

Stocking International brands from Europe, Asia and the Americas, as well as premium Australian brands, Elroy has an undeniably funky collection of items suitable for men and women of all ages.

Urban Records

One of Perth’s long-established independent record stores, Urban Records is finally putting their records online! Their online store already displayed their extensive selection of turntables and record players, but due to the lack of foot traffic around their home on Oxford Street in Leederville, they have made the move to expand their online shop.

So, if you’re a music buff or looking to broaden your music collection, Urban Records is your local source of online goodies. See it HERE

Note: as the process of uploading records to the online store began only this week, the displayed selection may not yet be exhaustive.

The Fruit Basket

Mount Pleasant staple The Fruit Basket has introduced an online ordering and home delivery system. This is no small feat for a local grocer, but it sounds like they’ve got it down to a fine art: simply message their Facebook page with your order, confirm whether it’s pick up or delivery and they’ll have it ready in store or at your door that afternoon. Their selection includes fresh fruit and vegetables, home made meals, cheese, tinned foods, pasta and much more. Easy as pie!

Blasta Brewing Company

Having already offered pick up and delivery options for their food and beer, Blasta Brewing Company have gone one step further to include essentials on their menu for home delivery. In this case, essentials include milk, milk alternatives, eggs and a jumbo roll of toilet paper - hooray! Although a little unorthodox, we sure are happy that if worse comes to worst, we’ll never be left high and dry without the essentials.
