Empire Lane is where passion for timeless gardens, natural products and beautiful accessories are brought together.

As owner/operator of Empire Lane, Ceri Wagnell's passion for beautiful gardens is transferred to the client during the design process, helping to create uniquely tailored outdoor spaces.

Ceri was involved in showcasing at Garden Week for two consecutive, successful years. Her team was twice awarded Best Landscape Design Display, and in 2010 also won the Grand Champion award for the very popular In the Pink display, a garden designed for Breast Cancer awareness. Since that time, Ceri has been involved in many wonderful projects, allowing her creativity and business acumen to grow.

Award-winning design firm Empire Lane worked closely with the clients of this beautiful home to create a French provincial feel to their front and rear gardens, complementing the stunning architecture.

Original hedging at the front was replaced with a rendered wall with rusted iron infill. Stunning natural travertine, large urns, scented michelia and gardenia, and Japanese box hedging are beautifully simple but have a strong visual impact at the home's entrance.

Use of structured hedging allows for planting of annuals, which will provide seasonal interest and colour. The two crimson spire trees blend with the ironwork, and their height balances out the space.

This planting and material theme is continued in the rear courtyard with the same travertine featured throughout the area. A granite-clad water feature, with its overflowing antique pot and Bizazza mosaic tiles, sits proudly as the dominant garden attraction.

Side planters are filled with mature camelia, gardenia, star jasmine and agapanthus to soften the structure. The scent of these plants fills the garden when they are in flower.

The clients had previously lived in Margaret River surrounded by ornamental pears, so they were very keen to include these trees in their new garden as well.

At the rear of the garden, a rusted gate with a mirror insert visually enlarges the space and was added to tie all the design elements together.

The outdoor kitchen and dining table are protected from the elements and can be used all year round.

Empire Lane combined its client's personal wish list with its design ideas and experience to deliver a distinctive outdoor space that exceeded the client's expectations.
