By working closely with the clients, Principal Landscapes has created a stunning outdoor space that ties in beautifully with a 1950s renovated bungalow.
Principal Landscapes is a multi-faceted company that provides a 'one-stop shop' approach for the outdoors.
This includes design and construction of custom concrete pools, roof structures, landscapes, and everything in between, including overseeing fibreglass pool installation. This approach enables them to create designs that connect and ensure maximum functionality.
All site consultations are conducted with the company director, Cullen Long, enabling him to obtain a full understanding of each client's brief, and in turn personally create a customised design to suit their requirements.
Cullen and his in-house construction team aim to simplify the entire outdoor process, so clients only need to deal with one point of contact to bring their exterior vision to life.
BAYSWATER
A fibreglass pool and area to entertain guests were at the top of the wish list for the clients at this Bayswater bungalow.
When they approached Principal Landscapes for the initial consultation, the clients shared their inspiration – a nearby retro-themed pub.
They requested a similar theme be introduced in their outdoor space, with an eclectic and interesting material palette.
To fulfil this, Cullen created a space that featured a 6x3.5m fiberglass pool, a custom timber pergola constructed of merbau and cedar, a feature hit-and-miss Cedar batten screen, and a besser-block feature wall.
A flooring combination of exposed aggregate, granite and recycled brick was introduced, and recycled bricks from the existing yard added
a further nod to the retro feel.
A feature stone clad planter box sits central to the pool and features a stainless steel fabricated water feature. Custom-made circular planter boxes were built to contrast the geometrical design with plantings of acacia, sansevieria and flowering plum.
Raised planter boxes were positioned along the new boundary fences and adjacent to the deck. Frameless glass fencing and garden lighting completed the design.
