MOUNT HAWTHORN
Working with the architect and client, Retreat Design was commissioned to design and project-manage the kitchen and bathrooms in this Mount Hawthorn new-build extension. The young, professional homeowners wanted a unique and innovative design solution and were not afraid to push certain design boundaries.
Using Arrital's Karisma collection in contrasting tones of matt black glass for the
island bench cabinetry, and white glass for the back wall, a cool, sleek finish was achieved.
A stainless steel countertop with welded sink, Zip Hydro Tap and Eve Tap by KWC provide functionality as well as beauty. To add a modern contrast to the warm timber flooring, Porcelanosa Cubica Nero tiles give a punchy 3D effect as the splashback. Complementing this sleek kitchen are Smeg appliances and integrated fridges.
CLAREMONT
Arrital's Karisma and Etherna ranges were used to suit the contemporary brief and space requirements of this classy townhouse renovation in Claremont. The clients loved the look of Retreat Design's modern showroom and thoroughly enjoyed seeing their galley-style kitchen transformed into a stylish cooking and entertaining area.
Doors were clad with 3mm thick Kerlite anthracite ceramic tile, creating a stone-effect surface and a great backdrop to this area, which grounds the overall design. To maximise space, a custom, white gloss bookcase was incorporated into the design, as well as a highly functional breakfast bar in 60mm Laminate bianco dax with transparent 12mm glass leg.
A ceiling-mounted Falmec rangehood was installed above the island vegie sink and induction cooktop. A second, welded stainless steel sink with Gessi Quadro tapware is located opposite to this, with a Laminam splashback in Filo Argento. Stunning black granite was used for the island bench, and top-of-the-range Miele appliances add to the high-end finish of this stylish kitchen space.
MARMION
This large family-friendly kitchen is the showcase of an architecturally designed house in beachside Marmion. In keeping with the client's brief, Retreat Design created a super-stylish kitchen that is all about open-plan living, clean lines and continuity.
Ample storage is provided in the form of cabinetry by Italian manufacturer Arrital, in a modern white glass finish. The Karisma collection cabinetry, meanwhile, is framed with a 60mm border, which is continued in the design of the island benchtop through the use of a 60mm Caesarstone top in Supremo Piatra Grey.
Incorporating maximum storage space and a seated breakfast bar, this kitchen is an entertainer's delight. Designer Miele appliances, a large integrated Siemens fridge and a pop-up rangehood by Sirius make for a slick and efficient kitchen space.
A beautiful Epicure stainless steel sink and Gessi tap add interest to the island bench while the elegant droplet pendant lights in chrome highlight the kitchen beautifully.
