For these clients with a large family, it was imperative to create a kitchen that worked well with children, pointing immediately to an open-plan area with an island bench. The pre-existing style of the home lent itself towards a Hamptons-style kitchen, and the clients enlisted the services of Shane Kachinski and Millennium Kitchens.
Surrounded by wood-framed glass double-doors and wind-out windows, the area was filled with an abundance of natural light, further enhanced by a skylight in the pitched ceiling.
Hand-painted Shaker-style cabinet doors and drawers with overhead, glass-panelled cabinetry radiate the unmistakable Hamptons style, further enhanced by the underbench corbels supporting the honed Quartz benchtops. Pendant lighting over the island bench provides a seamless connection with the nearby Hamptons-style dining table, replicated with the same corbels and light fittings.
Light and airy, the area is thick with white and highlights of dark wood via the flooring, emulating a vintage and modern-American take on old-English country style.
The subtle placement of powdery blue artwork on the walls is an intentional yet subtle ode to a true Hamptons colour palette, finishing the kitchen to perfection.
