Looking to go off the beaten track on your next holiday in Margaret River? Check out these incredible horse-riding tours through the Boranup Forest from Jesters Flat.

Winding through the stunning Boranup Forest on horseback is a truly magical experience. Launched on July 4, over one and a half hours you'll ride through giant karri trees, immersed in the forest's native flora and fauna.

A working equestrian farm, Jesters Flat have been offering horse-riding tours for more than 15 years and owner Fiona Flugge says the family have always worked with horses. Out of 50 horses on the property, 25 currently walk the trails, allowing them to match riders with a horse to meet your ability, from novice to advanced.

Jester’s Flat are the only operator licensed to tour through the area on horse-back, so it’s a truly unique opportunity you won’t get anywhere else. Owner Fiona Flugge commented:

“We take guests to whole new destinations, exploring the entire area from the beaches to the karri forests, and out to the wineries too. We offer a real adventure experience.”
The property also supports a vineyard producing a small vintage of Sauvignon Blanc every year. The wine is exclusively available for their cellar door, which you have the opportunity to visit upon the completion of your horse-riding adventure.
“Where we are situated, we’ve got a lot of beautiful national parks around us. We meet the riders at the forest and head out from there. It’s about an immersion into the surroundings, and providing a full experience of the region, rather than just the horse-riding.”
Tours are strictly request-only, so you’ll have to book in. They also offer five family-style rides, available for kids as young as six, which will be available from September when they return to normal operation. For more experienced riders, they offer longer rides heading into the conservation parks, or along the beach at Busselton, with some extending over several days (including accommodation and food). Tours are kept intimate in groups of 10 or less.

The Horse Resort, another popular horse-back tour operator in the region, is currently closed but hope to get back to business later in the year. They operate by appointment in advance only, so you should check with them closer to the date for more details.
