DAVID BROMLEY

Sundays | $21,000
Acrylic and oil on canvas, 180x150cm

Artist | David Bromley was born in the United Kingdom in 1960 and arrived in Australia in 1964. After leaving school at age 15, his first decade out in the ‘real’ world was, as he claims, “fairly aimless and rudderless”. Finally taking himself in hand, he spent years as a potter working with clay, which led to painting. While concentrating on paint for many years, Bromley has always been interested in a diverse approach to media – ceramics, sculpting, interiors and design. He has a creative approach to everything he does, and has been exhibiting around the world for close to three decades.

EXHIBITIONS
Everything You Imagine Is Real October 9-November 5
Showing at Claremont Quarter Level 2, 9 Bayview Terrace, Claremont.

“The recent works come from a place of great sense of wonder for everything,” says David Bromley about his exhibition. “There’s no doubt that I am fascinated by optimism and a base level of belief in the time in your life when a lot of worlds collide.”

Everything You Imagine Is Real will bring a sense of personalisation with his iconic displays of character overlay, the way he finds beauty in animals – butterflies, stampeding horses, birds and fish – and his portraiture of the female form with the focus being on the eyes. Launch of David Bromley Exhibition presented in partnership with Lexus of Perth in support of Telethon.
