Gather up your #flossyposse to see one of the most hilarious comedies of the year.
Given that Girls Trip is directed by Malcom D. Lee (Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, Barbershop: The Next Cut), you just know that this is going to be a laugh out loud comedy, and the acclaimed director certainly keeps the standard up in this film.

Girls Trip boasts an all star cast including Regina Hall (Scary Movie) as Ryan, a relationship expert and bestselling author, Queen Latifah (Hairspray) as Sasha, a celebrity blogger, and Jada Pinkett-Smith (The Nutty Professor) as Lisa, a single mother and housewife. Add in Tiffany Haddish, who may be a lesser-known comedienne but proves just as hilarious as her co-stars, as Dina, the crazy party-girl who is responsible for all of the mischief the women get into, and you’ve got yourself one star-studded movie.

After five years of not seeing each other, the four friends meet up for a trip to New Orleans for the Essence Festival, the largest event celebrating African-American culture and music in the United States. Each have their own reasons for going; Ryan will be a keynote speaker at discussing her latest book, You Can Have It All, Lisa wants to start dating again, Sasha’s website is lacking views and she needs an inside scoop to stop her blog being taken down, and Dina just wants to drink and have a good time. But the trip quickly turns sour leaving the women in no doubt that this will be one trip they won’t forget.

These four actresses were made to share the screen together; their chemistry is perfect and honest, making the humour even more sparkling. If you loved Bridesmaids you need to be first in line to see Girls Trip. It’s a refreshing take on the male-driven bachelor weekend films turning the genre on its head to prove that girls can get up to mischief too.

Girls Trip is a treat of a film, one that will make you laugh out loud and stop and think about your friendships in terms of quality not quantity.

Girls Trip is on general release now.
