Opening on July 31, Panacea is Fremantle Arts Centre's latest exhibition, featuring 150 works by 82 artists.

Attended by Fremantle Mayor Brad Petitt, the opening night will kick off with live music from DJ Bob Gordon who will be playing Freo classics all evening. There will also be an bar serving drinks and wood-fired pizza available for purchase through the evening.

The exhibition features a selection of paintings, drawings, photography, ceramics, prints and video from the City of Fremantle's Art Collection.

Panacea, from the Greek word meaning ‘a universal remedy’, is an invitation to the community to reflect on the optimistic human moments during this time of international shock and disruption from COVID19. There will be 148 works by 70 artists designed to reflect the stages of the pandemic.

FAC curators André Lipscombe and Ric Spencer present Panacea as a journey. The visitor will traverse from normal home life to lockdown and isolation, before re-emerging with a heightened appreciation of our deep need for empathy, and the panacea of the shared personal experience which helps creates an understanding of our own place in the world.

Details: Opening Friday 31 July at 6.30pm Running 1 August to 20 September from 10am to 5pm Free entry Website
