Looking for somewhere a little extra than ordinary to enjoy an evening out? Why not take yourself on a journey to one of the many themed bars in Perth and surrounds to transport you into another worldly place. From secretive speakeasy’s to Alice in Wonderland oddities, the following bars come dressed from head to toe in unique interiors that contribute to their quirky personalities with beverages and bites to match.

Darling Darling

Step aboard the Darling Darling at your own peril and allow her to take you down to the depths of the sea to Davy Jone’s Locker. Sit beside your bucko and take a swig of your Nelsons folly but Avast, no scoundrels or scallywags are welcome into the lower decks of this dive bar. Each day of the week this eclectic bar of sunken treasures serves up $10 daily cocktails fit for any seadog including bourbon sours, Gin and Tonic’s and Tommy’s Margarita’s. Every Sunday from 7 pm to 9 pm join in the jolly tunes and jig away to Julian’s English, Irish and Scandinavian fiddle. Navigate your way down Henry Street in Fremantle from 4 pm every Monday to Thursday and 12 pm Friday to Sunday to join the crew of the Darling Darling. No bookings are required, walk-ins only and be mindful of the crunch of peanuts beneath your feet.

Where every night is a prom night, get down and boogie to the sounds of classic disco beats beneath the glittering lights of Perth’s very own disco den. Sip on a decadent fruit tingle, blue Hawaiian or fluffy duck while you dance to the likes of Dancing Queen and Funky Town. Toots is hidden in the heart of the city and where would be the fun in revealing its location when half the fun is finding it.  All we can say is, if Toot’s is in town, you can do the hustle all night long. Open from 5pm every weekday somewhere in Northbridge.
