Surely there is nothing more romantic than a glass of wine paired with the delectable delights of French cuisine. Offering moody lighting, lashings of French flair and simply decadent food, these French-style bistros are perfect for that special occasion you have coming up!

French Accent

Within France, every region has its very own distinctive cuisine style. Mount Lawley’s French Accent, one of the more recently opened restaurants on this list, aims to give you just that. Their menu offers a selection of French classics that have been revived with a quirky twist; expect deconstructed onion soup and croissant burgers, theatrically prepared for your enjoyment. You’ll come for the food but stay for the show. Their three course menu special makes them an ideal date night choice; featuring your choice of a singular meal including entrée, main and dessert.

Le Rebelle

Le Rebelle is a three-tiered restaurant with a bistro, wine bar and intimate dining area that offers just the type of versatility needed for a date night. With delicacies ranging from a ‘Fromage menu’ and ratatouille to their iconic crab toast and Caesar salad, their menu can be perfectly summarised as Paris meets New York. It wouldn’t be a true French bistro without an incredible wine list, and theirs features some bottles that have been imported all the way from France. Within perfect distance of the Astor Theatre, you can stop in at this neighbourhood haunt in Mount Lawley before or after a show to really top off a perfect date night.

P’tite Ardoise Bistro

Be transported to the streets of Paris with P’tite Ardoise Bistro's classic French Bistro style food and selection of great French wines. You’ll have a choice between two menus; the first being their classic French-influenced dishes and a daily menu with in-season produce, featuring their daily specials. Tuesday through to Thursday are their BYO nights with a three course menu available Tuesday to Friday. Voted as Perth’s best French restaurant, this bistro is one you don’t want to miss.

Vincent Wine

This Parisian-inspired Wine bar first opened on January 21 and has been hailed as the place for a late afternoon wine that stretches out into a dinner date, as is the European way! Vincent Wine has an eloquent wine list with a staggering 80% of the wines from France and Italy, plus mulled wine over the cold winter months. On top of the wine, you’ll find all the French classics such as charcuterie, duck liver parfait, and truffle leek and potato soup. The bar has a real element of French aloofness; bookings cannot be made and there are no menus, as the menu is written on the wall at the bar.

Opening Hours: Wed-Thurs, 4pm-late and Fri-Sun, 12pm-late.

Bloody French

A Mediterranean restaurant with a French influence, this local Subi haunt offers the perfect relaxed atmosphere. Bloody French offers quintessential French food that is perfect for sharing, with drinks selected from all corners of Europe. The romantic atmosphere is made complete by a fireplace used during the wintertime. All the classic French dishes (escargot, French onion soup, bourguignon, cassoulet, coq au vin, bouillabaisse, raclette) are served up at this restaurant!

Petit Mort

Expect to be luxuriously “wined and dined” at this small suburban restaurant located in Shenton Park. Petit Mort’s small plate concept offers you a choice between a five course sample menu that is specifically designed for a whole table or a nine course degustation menu. Pair you meal with one of their delicious, European inspired cocktails and you’ll be left spellbound by the combination of delicate French flavours. Petit Mort are all about creating a fine dining experience that is meant to be savoured, delivered through dishes bursting with colour, texture and flavour.

Chez Pierre

This delectable restaurant first opened in 2007 and offers its diners 5 star service and traditional French cuisine to the absolute max. With Cordon Bleu trained owner and chef, Pierre Ichallalene, you know you’re in for a mouth-wateringly good dining experience. The menu is so French in design it will numb the pain of our international travel ban, transporting you right back to France. This of course means escargot and boeuf bourguignon are on the cards! With a three option functions menu and a private dining room, Chez Pierre is not only perfect for a night of fine French dining, but also ideal for that special celebratory dinner you need to plan.

Angels House

Angel's House is a new French bistro restaurant, opened by two French brothers in Fremantle. This old listed historical house built in 1880’s was first owned by a former shipbuilder. Angel’s House takes you on a journey of discovery, allowing your tastebuds to travel through the essence of French cuisine. Be sure to save room for dessert! Additionally, start your evening with a visit to the very French Whisper wine bar, located just across the street for a drink and some hors d’oeuvres beforehand; their duck terrine goes perfectly with a baguette and glass of champagne.
