For pottery enthusiasts, The Painted Teapot frequently host evening sessions for those looking to work on detailed projects or an excuse to catch up with likeminded pottery painters to get creative over nibbles and a beverage. Sultan's Treasure | Turkish Lamps

Enter Aladdin’s cave of glittering Turkish handicrafts and learn the ancient art of Mosaic glasswork. Sit down at a table of pre-cut glass and design your own magical lamp. You will be guided by Sultan’s Treasure team to provide you with creative direction and teach you about the fascinating history of Turkish design. Enjoy a complimentary hot Turkish tea and sweet treat as you become entranced in the creative process or make a new friend in the seat beside you. Your Turkish lamp class will include all the materials and tools required to make your art piece and a small stand lamp to light up your lamp to watch it sparkle.

If you are looking for something a little extra, for $10 you can upgrade to a magical Genie Lamp or $20 for a sculptural Swan Lamp. You can also opt to have your glass professionally grouted by Sultan’s team or take home the materials to complete the finishing touches at home.

Located in Midland Gate Shopping Centre, workshops run for two and half hours and start from $99. Mosaic classes are held mid-week Tuesday to Thursday and over the weekends.

Collective Obsessions | Resin Boards

The Resin chopping board is a hot kitchen trend and a fabulous designer gift that you can create yourself with a workshop hosted by the experts at Collective Obsessions. The effect of the resin creates a colourful and fluid design, making no two designs exactly the same. Create a set of four coasters and a custom tapas chopping board, while learning a variety of techniques to achieve the perfect gloss finish.

This class is designed for the absolute novice but will leave you feeling like a pro at the end of your two and half hour class. You will need to come back in a few days to allow your resin to set. This will be arranged through the team at Collective Obsessions. Classes are held at Co Studio in Bassendean and range from $131-$145.These sessions come with drinks, snacks and all the equipment you will need. All you need to bring is your imagination.

Perth Art Glass | Copper Sun Catchers

A workshop perfect for beginners, design and assemble two stunning copper foil stained class feathers to catch the light from your kitchen window. This one day course hosted by Perth Art Glass covers the basic principles of glass cutting, foiling and assembly. Classes are $180 and run for five and a half hours with a lunch break in the middle. Light refreshments are included throughout the session and access to kitchen facilities to prepare your own lunch.

If you find yourself falling in love with this art form, Perth Art Glass host a range of courses from entry-level to advance making all sorts of trinkets from Jewellery Boxes to Glass Terrariums.
