Comedy

They say laughter is the best medicine, and there’s no shortage of it in WA. While the biggest international comedy acts regularly pack arenas and theatres in Perth, the city has a booming underground scene with performances happening almost every night of the week. Events such as Perth Comedy Festival, Just For Laughs, Fringe World and RAW Comedy feature hundreds of acts, while festival roadshows deliver laughs to locations across the state.

“Bingo Loco has become nothing short of an entertainment phenomenon in its birth place of Dublin and beyond.” – Lonely Planet.

Bingo Loco is not a performance, it’s an engaging experience with the mentality of a theatre show, while always ensuring every element is completely ridiculous.

In 2020, Bingo Loco is partnering with Make-A-Wish® Australia to help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Each
year, thousands of Australian children are diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Wishes complement medical treatment – working to calm, distract and empower sick kids at the time they need it most. When a wish is realised, a child discovers that despite their situation, anything is possible.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Bingo Loco is an entertainment event run by Legs Eleven Australia Pty Ltd and is separate to cost of playing Bingo, operated by Legs Eleven Australia Pty Ltd on behalf of Make-A-Wish® Australia with authority to Fundraise. There is no obligation from attendees of the event
'Bingo Loco' to play Bingo. The separate cost to play Bingo is $3 for a booklet of 9 tickets. Proceeds from Bingo go to Make-A-Wish®

Description

What lurks in the Bard's bush this summer? Shakey is back on an artistic roll and has written tales of brother banishing brother, women pretending to be men pretending to be women, love octagons and a whole lot more! What was the legend himself thinking while writing this?

Find out by joining us on this funky, edgy, whimsical re-imagining of Shakespeare's classic comedy "As You Like It" created, performed, crewed & produced/directed entirely by local young people.

This show will be performed outdoors in the beautiful amphitheatre in Quarry Adventure Park, Meadow Springs, so we recommend audience members bring blankets, cushions & chairs to sit on, a picnic to snack on, warm gear (it can get VERY windy), and mosquito repellent (there is a wetlands nearby). Audience are welcome to join us from 6.40pm for a 7pm start, seating is free and will not be reserved, however there will be an option to 'pay what you think' once the show has ended..

Recommended parental guidance, contains mild language and themes.

The original production is proudly supported by Drug Aware, Healthway, and Regional Arts WA to promote the drug aware message, and by Shape Mandurah's community soup grant.

Description

Chameleon is a charming blend of satire, physical comedy, and storytelling, smashing stereotypes, exploring gender dynamics, and the harmful effects of social conditioning. With wit, vivacity, and whip-smart intelligence, Plummer draws frankly on her own experiences of living and loving in small town Australia and the big smoke of Paris to tell of escapades both heartfelt and hair-raising.

Chameleon is deeply relatable, provoking, tackling big issues with both sincerity and humour.

“Plummer is a serious purveyor of social change intent on achieving her goal with perfected physical comedy”

4 stars (Fest Magazine)

“This is a performer at full power in a show which perfectly utilises her many skills - a dream to be part of the experience.”
