City of Perth Light Trail

The much-anticipated City of Perth Light Trail is back again, with two exciting, illuminated trails to follow. The 26 installations across Central Perth and Northbridge will be here to explore up until January 2nd.

Crowd favourites, the Constellation Tunnel at Northbridge Piazza and Christmas Projections at Council House and St Georges Cathedral, have returned once again! Lights turn on at 6pm every night, but make sure to keep an eye out for Santa who will be making his way through Murray Street Mall Friday night and out the front of Council House on Sunday.

Three-hour free parking is available on weekends at CPP Cultural Centre, Pier Street and His Majesty’s. For more information on the trails click here.

Lotterywest Lights Trail at Claisebrook Cove

Why not branch out of the CBD and explore East Perth’s little neighbourhood of Claisebrooke Cove. Catch a free city CAT bus from the CBD and explore everything this village has to offer. Admire the festive light installations against the backdrop of the Swan River which include a Christmas countdown clock, dazzling Christmas tree and giant bauble. Once you’ve explored the installations there are plenty of options for a bite to eat along the riverside. For authentic Italian try Gioia on the River or perhaps The Royal, for an Aussie pub classic complete with waterfront views!

More information on the light trail can be found here.

Wanneroo Botanic Gardens

Not so keen on the hurly-burly of the CBD? Just five minutes from Joondalup you will find yourself in the tranquillity of the Wanneroo Botanic Gardens. Spend the festive season winding your way through five acres of breathtaking gardens and decorated installations in the heart of Perth’s Northern suburbs. See if you can spot all 9 of Santa’s reindeer! The lights turn on at 7pm every night.
