As if watching horror movies wasn’t terrifying enough, Perth is hosting the country’s first stand-alone VR film festival designed the make you tremble. The inaugural Fright Fest VR Festival is set to land on Palace Raine Square Cinemas from October 24 to November 2, with a ghoulish line-up for the Halloween season.
Perth can expect to be blessed with more outstanding foreign cinema as the 16th annual Russian Resurrection Film Festival lands this October at Event Cinemas Innaloo.
The Lavazza Italian Film Festival 2019 returns to Perth on the 2 October for a standout program of gritty dramas and sun-scorched Mediterranean gems. Opening with The Champion, about the glossy world of Italian footballers, the festival will finish up on operatic heights of Ron Howard’s Pavarotti – an evocative documentary on the life of Italy’s star performer. Calling all Perth filmmakers! The Revelation Film Festival and the City of Vincent have once again joined forces to offer three lucky filmmakers $5,000 in production funding for non-fiction films. Specifically, the films must orbit or intersect the City of Vincent.
