Moving closer to the city with our brewery series, we bring you four suburban breweries that are perfect for a pint, great food and spending quality time with friends and family. Discover the best brews in the Perth suburbs for post-work drinks or a relaxed Sunday session.

Golden West, Subiaco

While Golden West is said to be Subiaco’s first brewery pub, it comes with a history that stretches back to the 1890s. Originally the Golden West Aerated Water Company, after much acquisition, the focus today is creating award-winning modern pale-ale style beers and lagers. From vats to glass, all pints poured at the bar have a low carbon footprint, having only travelled around 10m in the process.

The Golden West Co. pay homage to the original soft drinks factory with 'The Kwencher', a 5% west coast pale ale, and their Western Red Ale also comes highly recommended. The food menu deviates from the traditional, with head chef Deeraj Khanna blending Aussie favourites with South Asian flavours to build a repertoire that compliments their fresh-brewed beers and cocktails on tap. This refreshing addition to the city's breweries offers visitors a chilled, family-friendly space that offers drinks and dining inside and outside in the sunny beer garden.

Golden West is open from 12pm to 10pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and 12pm to 12am on Friday and Saturday.

Nowhereman Brewing Co, Leederville

Nearby in Leederville, the relaxed and friendly Nowhereman Brewing Co is a brewery that’s all about supporting local. Opened in 2017, Nowhereman showcases a wide range of locally produced spirits, wines, and of course, their own freshly brewed beer. From traditional pale and extra pale ales to more exotic combinations like berry, coffee, and orange sour beers. Their versatile repertoire of drinks is accompanied by pizzas, pub favourites and grazing plates for sharing.

Open from Wednesday to Friday from 4pm to 11pm, Saturday 12pm to 11pm, and 12pm to 8pm on Sundays, pop into Nowhereman Brewing Co for a sundowner, a drink with friends, and support a beautiful local venue. You can also take part in pub trivia, running every Thursday from 7pm, a great way to get ready for the weekend.

Otherside, Myaree

Straying from the traditional sit-down brewhouse, Otherside encompasses a festival atmosphere in their industrial-chic brewery located in Myaree. Born and brewed in Fremantle, Otherside started its journey finessing fresh beers for festivals and soon the wider world. The team invite customers and their families into their space to eat, drink and make merry with their very own food truck and of course, plenty of beer on tap.

A unique membership option allows the public to ‘own’ a piece of the brewery and become a ‘Beer Tycoon’, with discounts and merchandise (and bragging rights) included. The brewery welcomes beer aficionados and casual beer enjoyers alike.

Open from Wednesday to Friday, 3pm to 9pm, Saturday from 11am to 9pm and Sunday 11am to 8pm.

Seasonal Brewing Co

Unexpectedly located in Maylands, Seasonal Brewing Co is set up in a renovated mechanic’s garage space, creating a minimalist, light and relaxed environment to meet with friends and family. The brewery produces a range of international-style beers including 18 beers on tap, with paddles to try and plans to expand their beer menu in the future.

The cool, craft beers are complemented by a full bar, a range of cocktails and a seasonal food menu, including their handmade pies and sausage rolls, which receive rave reviews. Take a moment to look at the array of artwork displayed on the walls by professional Perth artists.

Just a 10 minute drive from the city, the Seasonal Brewing Co microbrewery welcomes everyone and your well-behaved pooch. Open Monday and Wednesday from 5pm to 10pm, and midday to 10pm on the weekends.
