This year’s WA Beer Week is almost upon us, a 10-day celebration of everything beer-related and showcasing some of the best breweries the state has to offer. Scoop gets the lowdown on the 9 events you really need to get yourself to.
Hear the Beer, Caboose, Friday November 24

For WA Beer Week, Hear the Beer’s Chris Espie is hosting an evening of learning and boogying to tell you just how connected the two are. Chris will spend the evening guiding attendees through five albums and five beers that perfectly complement each other. You’ll learn about how pilsners make you want to dance, how pale ales can enhance your favourite rock album, and how to set the mood by dishing up classic tunes served with an amber ale. A truly unique pairing experience.

Bridges to Beer Run, Dutch Trading Co., Saturday November 18

The crew at Dutch Trading Company (or DTC) have one of the best craft beer selections in town, and know how to throw a good party to boot. But if you want to get to their WA Beer Week bash then you’re going to have to earn it. The inaugural Bridges to Beer run is a 6k ‘at your own pace’ run/walk beginning at McCallum Park and ending at the DTC parking lot, where you can celebrate with a karma keg (pay what you feel). The best part is that all ticket sales and karma keg donations will go to the Movember Foundation, raising funds for men’s health issues. Find out more.

Tin Can Alley, Petition, Sunday November 19

Tin Pan Alley was the area in NYC that is considered the birth place of radio, and a new wave of music across the world. In present day, the team at Petition are bringing us their own version of Tin Can Alley to celebrate the music from that era, and of course serving up a range of tinnies from some of WA Beer Week’s best. Think lawn games, food trucks, heaps of live music, and of course…beer! Find out more.
