Perth is an early to rise and early to bed kind of city. Mid-week, most bars and restaurants are closed by 10pm and and unless you know where to look, it can feel like the entire city is shutdown. Surprisingly, there is a vibrant underground scene of boutique bars in and around the Perth CBD and Northbridge happy to keep the home fires burning. Here are five of the best.

Sneaky Tony’s

Sneaky Tony’s in Chinatown is Northbridge’s worst kept secret. You’ll need a password to get beyond the imposing steel door to the laid-back rum bar filled with over 300 varieties of rum from around the world. Its hip atmosphere yet elegant décor oozes comfort, with private booths that are perfect for a date night. Dimly lit with candles on your table, sit back and relax with a dram of your choosing.

The password changes daily, so check their Facebook page or you’ll be denied entry. For more info, check our their website.

Open Wednesday to Sunday 5pm – 12am.
