In a new partnership with Spotify, the world's largest and most successful music streaming service, the Australian Chamber Orchestra is releasing six concert recordings throughout 2015 as ACO Sessions on Spotify.

Mastered and released exclusively for Spotify, the sessions have been selected from the ACO's extensive live performance back catalogue, and will include performances of major works by Brahms, Mendelssohn, Barber, Haydn, Mozart and Sibelius.

The ACO is the first orchestra to partner with Spotify to release concert recordings as live Sessions, following in the footsteps of rock and pop luminaries such as Kylie Minogue, Franz Ferdinand, Lily Allen, Band of Horses, Lorde and Mumford & Sons, who also have exclusive live recordings available on the service. The partnership enables audiences across the world to experience the Orchestra's trademark high-octane performance style.

Artistic Director Richard Tognetti said, '..We're excited to be working with Spotify to bring these live recordings out of the archive and back into the ears of listeners.'

Spotify Managing Director Kate Vale adds, 'It's a privilege to be working with the Australian Chamber Orchestra to surface unique, captivating, locally produced content that will ultimately find a global Spotify audience.'

The ACO Sessions on Spotify series launches with Brahms' Symphony No. 4 today (Feb 27, 2015). The remaining Sessions will be released at intervals throughout the year. Listen here.
