Rooftop Movies

Location: Roof of Roe St Carpark

Open: November – March

Presented by the producers of the epic Fringe World Festival, this open-air cinema screens a range of new releases (and is also available to hire for private events), and offers some gorgeous panoramic views of the Perth city skyline from the comfort of plush beanbags.

Camelot Outdoor Cinema

Location: Mosman Hall, Mosman Park

Open: December – April

Set in the beautiful limestone-walled gardens of the Art Deco Mosman Hall, this cinema offers deckchair and cabaret-style seating for screenings of some of the best films of the season – perfectly complemented by the venue’s fully licensed bar and tasty woodfired pizza.

Kookaburra Outdoor Cinema

Location: Allen Road, Mundaring WA 6073

Open: November – April

Set in the Perth Hills with the state forest providing a dramatic backdrop, this hidden gem of an outdoor cinema is the perfect venue to catch a movie out of the city setting. Owned and operated by a local hills family, there’s plenty of deck chairs to kick back and enjoy your film or heaps of lawn space to bring your own seating and eating arrangement.

Somerville Auditorium

Location: UWA Nedlands

Open: December – April

Best known as the site for the Perth Lotterywest Film Season, guests can relax on deckchairs and grass seats over a picnic at this inviting venue that dates back to 1927, and screens a range of indie, community and international films.

Moonlight Cinema

Location: May Drive Parkland, Kings Park and Botanic Garden

Open: December – March

Screening advance previews, new releases and cult classics, Moonlight Cinema is the perfect summer evening outing set on the beautiful Kings Park lawn. Guests can indulge in hot food, sweets, beer and wine – or if feeling a little fancy, the Gold Grass experience offers a premium viewing location and a comfy bean bed.

Luna Outdoor Cinema

Location: 155 Oxford Street Leederville

Open: February – April

With a mixture of bean bags and table settings, this intimate outdoor venue offers some memorable interactive screenings alongside previews, new releases, documentaries and cult classics – best enjoyed with a tasty cheeseboard and a premium beer or wine in hand!

ECU Joondalup Pines

Open: Duration of the Perth International Arts Festival

As the name states, The Joondalup Pines, located at ECU Campus, is set amongst the towering pine trees creating a whimsical movie viewing experience. This one-of-a-kind outdoor cinema offers a great opportunity to view acclaimed international films in a unique setting for Perth International Arts Festival, held annually over summer.

Telethon Community Cinemas

Location: Bassendean, Murdoch and Burswood

Open: November - April

Run by over 500 volunteers, Telethon Community Cinemas is WA’s outdoor cinema charity, screening blockbuster films, classics and everyones favourite movies throughout Perth's Summer months. This family-friendly, affordable community outdoor cinema donates all its profits to charities improving the quality of life of kids in a health or physical ability crisis.
